Choose Valentina Inn & Villas
Christmas is just around the corner, and so begins the winter season of family travel. If you've ever tried to take the whole family on vacation, you've probably been soured by the reaction at the front desk. "How many people do you need to accommodate?" At the Valentina Inn & Villas, our 2 bedroom suites accommodate 6, and our three bedroom suites accommodate 8. And for those smaller families, our 1 bedroom suites accommodate 4. What does this mean for you? No more struggling to fit four kids on the fold-out sofa bed.

Another big issue for big families is the cost of eating out every night. While Valentina is located on the "Restaurant Row" of Pismo Beach, there is no pressure to eat out every night. We have full gourmet kitchens, complete with all the appliances and kitchen accessories that our necessary to "make the season bright." From “brilliant” sandwiches to “brilliant” salads to a “brilliant” selection of beers on tap, The Moose never fails to please. It’s something you surely have to see (and taste) to believe. Come visit this "brilliant" sandwich shop for lunch or dinner (or both).

Celebrate the Christmas Season in Pismo Beach!

Santa . . . No Stranger to the Joy of Vino
Celebrate With Him!
The Christmas holiday is a time for rejoicing and celebration. And with any celebration of this magnitude, wine is a must. Why do you suppose Santa's cheeks are rosy?

Many local wineries in the Edna Valley are in the midst of wonderful tasting celebrations to commemorate this special occasion and are worth a visit. Check out sanluisobispocounty.org to find out their addresses and holiday schedules.

In addition, if you're looking for the perfect gift for your special someone, tickets to the Great American Melodrama are your solution. These performances are witty and entertaining, and always end with a good old-fashioned vaudeville show.

Their most popular show of the year is a three-part evening! First, celebrate the redemption of Scrooge in a heart-warming tale of holiday magic, their one-act version of Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. Then, laugh yourself silly at the zany characters in their fractured fairy-tale opera, and finally you can delight in the music of the season in their unique holiday vaudeville revue, a wonderful gift of song, dance and comedy! This show is a very special family tradition designed to bring a year's worth of smiles to you and your loved ones in a great musical and theatrical experience! The Great American Melodrama is located at 1863 Front St. in Oceano.

And while you're in Pismo Beach, be sure to reserve your suite at the Valentina Inn & Villas-- the best way to spend the holidays with family and friends.

Do You Hear What I Hear? It's Christmas Season in Pismo!

"Dang, I Knew I Should Have Went to Pismo!"
If you listen close enough, you may not hear the jubilant sounds of Christmas carollers, but you will hear the gentle sound of the waves crashing on the Pismo sands-- a sound that's much more appropriate given the fact that we don't have sleds or snow here. Yes, as the Beatles once proclaimed, Christmastime is here again, and Pismo Beach is joyously celebrating this most special holiday.

As family-owned and operated suites, Valentina Inn & Villas believes that this season should be spent with the family in a place that everyone calls home. For us, this place is Pismo Beach.

Come join our family in celebrating the coming of our Savior in this simple, yet beautiful beach town. We may not be Vermont, but we are definitely just as beautiful. Our wine country is world-renowned, our historic Pier is one of the most scenic, and our restaurants are some of the finest. Top that, Vermont!

Come deck the halls in Pismo Beach and be filled with merry-ness! Reserve now at Valentina Inn & Villas via phone at 805-773-1234 or online at ValentinaPismoBeach.com! Our spacious 1-3 bedroom suites can accommodate the whole fam'!

Merry Christmas!

Stay Warm... Drive South for the Winter

Follow the Birds, Migrate South
to Pismo Beach for the Winter
Or if you live south of Pismo, drive north. While everywhere else seems to suffer from poor seasonal
conditions or just plain awful weather year-round, Pismo Beach remains a paradise at any given month of the year.

It may not receive the attention of Hawaii or any other exotic islands, but then again, those places can cost a fortune. Times are tough, and Pismo Beach is much more "real" anyways. The views are stunning, the activities are endless, and the wine region surrounding it is absolutely superb.

An ideal climate is just the icing on the cake to a perfect winter getaway. Come visit Pismo Beach, and reserve your villa at Valentina today!

Deck the Halls at Valentina, Fa La La La La...

"Snow, Snow, Snow" isn't What You'll Find in Pismo
But Then Again, We Have the Beach!
Bing Crosby sung about them. Chicago sung about them. Even Michael Bublé sung about them.

White Christmas's are so cliched.

Skip the banality, and come to Pismo instead. Valentina Inn & Villas comfortably accommodates large families and groups of friends in large suites. And, all of our ocean view suites have fireplaces, so you can pretend to roast chestnuts on an open fire as you listen to the harmonies of Nat Cole King over your Hi-Fi Stereo system.

A memorable Christmas dinner doesn't always have to take place in your home. Why go through all that trouble to clean up the house while guests just mooch off of your culinary genius? Save the time and the trouble, and host it in a Valentina suite instead. Our 3 bedroom suites accommodate 8!

Celebrate the magic of Christmas in Pismo Beach this year. Reserve your Valentina villa today!

Santa Claus: Comin' to the Central Coast for a Little Sun
There are plenty of incredible sights to behold on the Central Coast, particularly in San Luis Obispo County, but during the winter season, perhaps one of the most special is Santa Claus. Indeed, St. Nicholas likes to take a bit of a break from the chilly North Pole, and enjoy some time in sunny California. Don't judge him... after all, even the birds fly south for the winter.

Come take this opportunity to visit Santa's House in the Plaza on your trip to Pismo Beach! Mission Plaza is only a short drive away, and Santa is eager to meet everyone! He will be around from November 26 to December 24.

Every child that visits with Santa will receive a candy cane, toy and coloring book at no charge.  It is $5 to take your own picture with Santa, $7 for a souvenir framed photo and $10 to take your own photo and receive a souvenir framed photo.

Reports have not yet been confirmed as to whether or not Mrs. Claus will be joining her husband. However, this is an opportunity that is not to be missed by visitors and locals alike.

Rockin’ Harvest Celebration: Nov. 4th – 6th

Rockin' Harvest 2011: Nov. 4-6

San Luis Obispo Vintners Association announces their 21st Annual Rockin’ Harvest Celebration taking place November 4th – 6th. Over 60 wineries and restaurants from the San Luis Obispo region are featured in the scenic seaside setting of the Avila Beach Golf Resort. Winemakers, local chefs and wine lovers share the fruits of their labor and passion for the art of winemaking.  Back by popular demand, this year’s auction will once again open up with live music from the Winemaker's Band, ‘The Crushtones’, a group formed especially for last year’s Annual Event.  For locals, and those from out of the area, this is a great time to explore San Luis Obispo and discover the culinary treasures of our unique region.

New this year, SLO Vintners will offer two additional event features in conjunction with the main event.  A limited amount of “back stage passes” will kick off the day at 11AM.  These special guests will get an hour early entrance to the event, and be able to sample special limited reserve wines, poured during this hour only. Early bird tickets are very limited.

Along with the new back stage pass, SLO Vintners wants the event to continue on Sunday.  Come “party like a rock star”! Hit the SLO Wine trail and let the party carry on at participating wineries, where they pull out the wine, food and entertainment once again at their individual wineries. Your ticket into the Grand Tasting from Saturday, gets you into the winery event on Sunday for FREE!!!  All you have to do is wear your all access bracelet from the main event on Saturday and bring your wine glass with you as well on Sunday, and you’ll be ready to rock 2 days straight with local SLO Wineries.

Harvest Celebration events take place all weekend and kick off on Friday night with a variety of winemaker socials and dinners that offer a great value. Wineries and restaurants partner to provide festive food and wine experiences at various winery and restaurant locations in San Luis Obispo. The weekend provides enthusiasts a chance to discover the distinct characteristics of San Luis Obispo while meeting the people that created the wines.

Tickets to the Grand Tasting Event on Saturday are on sale now!  This year private tables are SOLD OUT! Don’t miss out on this unforgettable weekend in SLO Wine Country!

The award goes to Dylan W. of Wayne, NJ for his song entry "Pismo Face" based on the Lady Gaga hit "Poker Face".

The Monarchs Are Coming! The Monarchs Are Coming!

The Monarch Butterfies: Returning to Pismo in Weeks!
Pismo Beach is turning a new shade of orange this coming month. Yes, the Monarch Butterflies will be returning to Pismo at the end of October. From late October to February, the butterflies cluster in the limbs of a grove of Eucalyptus trees at Pismo State Beach. A treat for all ages, and a Pismo Beach tradition, the arrival of the Monarchs is a highly anticipated event.

Pismo's official Monarch Butterfly Grove is easily accessible to butterfly admirers. It is located on State Highway 1 at the south boundary of the city limits of Pismo Beach.

Spectators come from all over the Central Coast and throughout California to catch a glimpse of these dazzling Monarchs. Visitors are greeted by knowledgeable and well-informed volunteer docents offering daily talks and information.

Our colony is one of the largest in the nation, hosting an average of 25,000 butterflies over the last five years. The Monarchs that visit Pismo Beach are a special variety. They have a life span of six months as opposed to that of common Monarchs who live only six weeks (we like to credit this to the stress-free Pismo lifestyle). This can be attributed to a unique fat storing system. However, even with an extended life span, those butterflies that leave in March will never return.

Scientists do not know why the Monarchs consistently return to some wintering sites. In North America, those sites range from the Central and Southern California Coast to Mexico. Some scientists speculate that the insects are equipped with genetic homing systems that lead them from their summer sites in the Sierras, Florida, Canada and the Great Lakes Region in North America back to their winter locations.

On the Central Coast, Monarchs winter in Pismo Beach, Pacific Grove and Morro Bay. The Natural History Museum In Morro Bay is an excellent resource for information about Monarchs.

During the season the Docent Trailer opens at 10am and closes at 4pm daily. Daily talks happen at 11am and 2pm, weather permitting. For more information or directions, please call the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce at 800-443-7778. Be sure to visit ClassicCalifornia.com - the Pismo Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau's web site for more information about Pismo Beach.

And if you are planning on making a trip out to Pismo, or wish to stop here on your tour of the California Central Coast, be sure to contact Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach, CA, located at the heart of the Central Coast, less than two blocks from the beach.

Pismo Beach September 11th Tribute at Valentina Inn & Villas

9/11: A Day of Remembrance

September 11, 2001 was a day that affected everyone throughout the world. It is not only a day that recalls the pain and suffering of the millions of Americans impacted by this terrorist attack, but also a day that commemorates the strength and resilience of the American spirit and to foster healing.

If you happen to drive by Price Street in Pismo Beach today, you will notice an American flag nobly draped beside the Valentina Inn & Villas sign at 911 Price Street across from Giuseppe's. Below the flag is a list of all the victims of the 9/11 attacks to serve for reflection and prayer, not forgetting the family and friends of these victims, as well as those policemen and firefighters who put their lives at stake on that fateful day. United we stand in the face of tragedy, looking forward to a better future.

We hope that you were able to observe at least a few moments of the beautiful televised ceremony that took place this morning at the site of the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. The impact of each name being called out on the microphone and moments of silence, were enough to draw one's breath away.

The staff of Valentina Inn & Villas stands in prayer with the loved ones impacted by these attacks.

God Bless the USA.

Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach to Commemorate Sept.11 Victims with Special Tribute

September 11th-- A Day that Will Live in Infamy
And Continue to Inspire Us With Resilience

September 11 was a day that our nation will never forget.

As such, Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach will be proudly displaying a large American flag on the front of our building. In addition, we will have a list of those that lost their lives in these attacks marked below the flag.

The staff at Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach hopes our tribute to the victims of 9/11 will encourage people to reflect on this memorable day in history. For us, it is not only a dedication to those who lost their lives as a result of the attacks; it is a way to commemorate America's unstoppable spirit of resilience, patriotism, and dedication to freedom.

We hope to provide a positive and forward-looking way for Americans and others to forever honor and remember the 9/11 victims, survivors, and the many that rose in service in response to the 9/11 tragedy, including first responders, recovery workers, volunteers, public safety officers, and our military.

We are lucky to live in the United States of America - and this privilege didn't come cheap. Our Founding Fathers were not cowards. They made immense sacrifices to establish this Great Nation in freedom - not the least of which was going to war with the enemy of that freedom. All of those who have fought in the subsequent wars and conflicts and those who are fighting today have continued to make sacrifices in order to defend those original ideals. Even now, our civil servants, particularly Firefighters and Police, are making sacrifices to maintain the quality of our lives.

San Luis Obispo "Bike Happening" on September 1

How does one Bike it SLO? Must they bike at a relaxed easy pace to enjoy their surroundings? Perhaps. But for a group of dedicated bike enthusiasts and professionals, to Bike it SLO means a lot more than that. For this "circus" of cyclists, if you will, bicycling is a "happening."

And they encourage you to join them or watch them on September 1 as they gather together for their monthly minutes of fame.

SLO Bike Happening . . . As crazy and fun as it looks.
Per their website (http://bikehappening.org/), a few cyclers have been getting together the first Thursday of the month since June of 2000 for a fun bike ride through downtown San Luis Obispo. As others saw how much fun they were having they started joining the group and the little bike ride has grown from a few dozen friends into a few hundred friends. Oh the magic of cycling.

Every month has a theme. September 2011's theme is Team Spirit. Choose a team to represent. It can be anything (Team Jacob, Team America, ANYTHING), and bike it out! Bring your team together and show some team spirit!

This group does not have a permit for the ride because they rely on their right to peacefully assemble and when they ride they become traffic and abide by the laws of traffic. If you chose to join them for a ride they ask that you follow three simple rules: Have fun, respect our community, and obey all traffic laws.

Whether you're dusting off your old cruiser or bringing out your pricey pride and joy, the purpose to get people on their bikes and to have fun. If you’d like to join us on our next social on wheels bring your bike to the Mission Plaza the first Thursday of the month at 9:30PM (September 1, 2011 is the next ride).

They start at the Mission in San Luis Obispo and exit towards Monterey Ave/Nipomo St. They go straight to Nipomo, left on Nipomo and then left on Marsh. They ride up Marsh St all the way past Santa Rosa Street and into the parking lot between Marsh and Higuera Streets. There they swarm! That lets them collect everyone and then head back out into Higuera Street. At the corner of Higuera St and Santa Rosa St they wait until everyone arrives at the stop light. Then at the next green light they all ride down Higuera St together!

Check it out this Thursday!
