Sunset Western Wine Awards Gala

Western Wine Awards Gala
September 30th on the Pismo Pier
Sunset is coming to Pismo Beach. And we don't mean the spectacular sunset you will encounter at Valentina. That goes without saying.

Join Sunset Wine Editor Sara Schneider and Sunset Editor-in-Chief Katie Tamony for one of the weekend’s most anticipated events. The Sunset Western Wine Awards are recognized as the highest honor for Western winemakers and focus solely on wines produced in the West. Sunset’s panel of professional judges includes Western wine writers, sommeliers, and winemakers. At this festive dinner and awards ceremony, you’ll get to sip the award-winning wines and meet their award-winning winemakers. Hosted by the City of Pismo Beach on the historic Pismo Beach Pier, the event features tantalizing, locally grown fare paired with wines that have been nominated for a Sunset Western Wine Award. Category winners will be announced throughout the evening.

Come to Pismo for this special event!

And while you're in Pismo, be sure to choose Valentina Inn & Villas for your accommodations. Pismo Beach's closest and finest, we are here to make your weekend an even more tasteful experience.

53rd Annual St. Anthony's Celebration Comes to Pismo Beach

St. Anthony Celebration
Pismo Beach, CA
Portuguese and St. Anthony admirers alike will take over Pismo Beach once again for the 53rd annual St. Anthony Celebration of Pismo Beach. This celebration is to Pismo what apple pie is to Americans or what pasta is to Italians. Pismo Beach locals and visitors enjoy the unique festa and anticipate it year after year. Festivities will begin on Saturday with a special rosary and novena prayer.

There will be an exchanging of St. Anthony statues at 7 p.m. on Aug. 20 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Pismo Beach. Weeklong activities include dances, a procession, Mass, a live auction and grand march. A beef stew lunch served at the St. Anthony Celebration Grounds at noon on Aug. 22 will conclude the events.
The St. Anthony's Celebration is celebrated annually to honor the life and works of St. Anthony of Padua, who was born in Portugal in 1192.

Book now at Valentina to reserve your villa today for this event-filled celebration.

A Piece of Pismo Beach History

Tent City . . . When Pismo Beach
was first "discovered"

Pismo Beach is full of history, as any Pismo local will attest. Regardless of developments and changes since the pioneering days of old, Pismo has always kept its character, and had its share of "characters." We are town of class, but also of "small town" charm and hospitality, and these features have been preserved through the ages. This positive transformation of Pismo Beach has been surreally captured on the walls of Valentina Inn & Villas through our hard-to-find historic photos.

In our endless efforts to preserve the rich history of Pismo Beach and it's surrounding areas, we have researched, found, decorated our rooms with one-of-a-kind historic photos of Pismo Beach. In addition, every room is dedicated to one of the most important movers n' shakers of Pismo's past.

From Lucille Dias (the owner of the original Pismo Beach Inn) to Elizabeth Jatta (first City Clerk) of Pismo Beach) to John Price (first Pismo Beach settler when it was still Rancho Pismo), our suites tell the story of a little city that could. From a dusty town beginnings to its current status as a beachy retreat destination (mentioned even by Bugs Bunny), history lives on through our classic photos.

Come celebrate Pismo Beach history today at Valentina Inn & Villas, and enjoy Pismo Beach today. Call us at 805-773-1234, or reserve online at valentinapismobeach.com/reservations.html!
