Deck the Halls at Valentina, Fa La La La La...

"Snow, Snow, Snow" isn't What You'll Find in Pismo
But Then Again, We Have the Beach!
Bing Crosby sung about them. Chicago sung about them. Even Michael Bublé sung about them.

White Christmas's are so cliched.

Skip the banality, and come to Pismo instead. Valentina Inn & Villas comfortably accommodates large families and groups of friends in large suites. And, all of our ocean view suites have fireplaces, so you can pretend to roast chestnuts on an open fire as you listen to the harmonies of Nat Cole King over your Hi-Fi Stereo system.

A memorable Christmas dinner doesn't always have to take place in your home. Why go through all that trouble to clean up the house while guests just mooch off of your culinary genius? Save the time and the trouble, and host it in a Valentina suite instead. Our 3 bedroom suites accommodate 8!

Celebrate the magic of Christmas in Pismo Beach this year. Reserve your Valentina villa today!

A Piece of Pismo Beach History

Tent City . . . When Pismo Beach
was first "discovered"

Pismo Beach is full of history, as any Pismo local will attest. Regardless of developments and changes since the pioneering days of old, Pismo has always kept its character, and had its share of "characters." We are town of class, but also of "small town" charm and hospitality, and these features have been preserved through the ages. This positive transformation of Pismo Beach has been surreally captured on the walls of Valentina Inn & Villas through our hard-to-find historic photos.

In our endless efforts to preserve the rich history of Pismo Beach and it's surrounding areas, we have researched, found, decorated our rooms with one-of-a-kind historic photos of Pismo Beach. In addition, every room is dedicated to one of the most important movers n' shakers of Pismo's past.

From Lucille Dias (the owner of the original Pismo Beach Inn) to Elizabeth Jatta (first City Clerk) of Pismo Beach) to John Price (first Pismo Beach settler when it was still Rancho Pismo), our suites tell the story of a little city that could. From a dusty town beginnings to its current status as a beachy retreat destination (mentioned even by Bugs Bunny), history lives on through our classic photos.

Come celebrate Pismo Beach history today at Valentina Inn & Villas, and enjoy Pismo Beach today. Call us at 805-773-1234, or reserve online at valentinapismobeach.com/reservations.html!

Instead of booking the three night minimum at Valentina and going home before you even finish unloading the car, you now have the perfect incentive to stay that extra night. Now, whenever you Book a 4 Night Stay at Valentina, you will receive one extra night FREE. That is a discount of up to $550.

Arroyo Grande Celebrates 100 Years

Arroyo Grande Centennial
Celebration

If you've ever stayed in Pismo Beach and had an inkling for antique shopping or historical exploration, then you may be familiar with the cute nearby town of Arroyo Grande. Well, in case you didn't hear, Arroyo Grande is celebrating it's centennial anniversary of incorporation. Yes, that's right, Arroyo Grande is 100 years old!

In commemoration there will be a parade, themed “Celebrating a Century of Community,” which begins at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the intersection of East Grand Avenue and Halcyon Road. The parade will showcase the Grand Marshals, floats (centennial themed), family oriented, businesses (past and present), agriculture/farming, motor vehicles (antique and vintage, custom cars, trucks, tractors, bicycles), elected officials (past and present), marching units, military bands, community and civic organizations, equestrians, churches, sports, educational, alumni groups – the list is endless!

This fantastic parade in downtown Arroyo Grande will likewise feature local marching bands like that of Judkins Middle School. Indeed, our very own Valentina Guest Services Representative, Matthew Pringle (Age 13) will be featured as lead bass (drummer). That alone is enough reason to gaze upon this marvelous sight to behold.

The Centennial Parade will travel east from Halcyon Road and East Grand Avenue toward the Village, ending at South Mason and Nelson Streets. Parade–goers can find their spot anywhere along the parade route, as the route will be closed to traffic during the parade.

The City of Arroyo Grande began in 1867 as a political township from land owned by Francisco Zeba Branch. Due to the prime agricultural soil, mild coastal climate and the establishment of the Pacific Coast Railway, Arroyo Grande quickly grew and was incorporated as a City on July 10, 1911.

Over the past 100 years Arroyo Grande has maintained its unique character and community spirit. It's agricultural heritage and historic Village area as well as its cultural amenities and strong business foundations make Arroyo Grande a desirable and diverse city that is loved by its residents and visitors alike.

As a hotel full of history, Valentina Inn & Villas likes to support the history of Pismo Beach and nearby towns. Mission San Luis Obispo: A Historical California Treasure

Be Like Ken . . . Only Less Nerdy
A Little Central Coast (San Luis Obispo) Knowledge
Wanna Be the Next Ken Jennings on Jeopardy when it comes to the California Missions

Then, Did You Know . . .

Mission San Luis Obispo was built from 1793-94, and was the 5th California Mission founded by Father Junipero Serra.

The patron saint of Mission San Luis Obispo is Saint Louis, Bishop of Toulouse, France. Louis, born in 1274, the second son of King Charles of Naples. After being defeated in a war with Spain, Louis and his brother were sent, as hostages, to Spain for the release of their father. The brothers spent seven years in Spain, being instructed by Franciscan friars. Having absorbed the training, Louis decided to join the Order. After his release, he renounced his claim to the crown of Naples, joined the Order of Friars Minor, and was consecrated Bishop of Toulouse. Due to poverty and disease in the city, he fell ill and passed away at the young age of 23.

Every year hundreds of vendors come to display things like paintings, carvings, pictures, T-shirts, jewelry and much much more. What's a festival without carnie food? Come hungry so you can try all the delicious varieties. BBQ, cotton candy, shaved ice, numerous strawberry deserts and every fluid you could imagine to wash it down with too!

Musicians from all over the United States submit demos and request to play live at this popular two day event. Check back later to see who's coming! If you know a great musician be sure to pass this event on to them!

Don't leave the kids at home! Our annual Kids Clam Dig could net your kid (12 and under) a $100 bucks! We bury 100 numbered clams in an area 30' x 100'. Every numbered clam discovered will win a prize! The clam numbered 100 wins the $100 bill.
