Central Coast Book & Author Festival

Central Coast Book and Author Festival
Bookworms and Sunday Comic Fans Beware!
The Annual Central Coast Book & Author Festival 2011 on September 18 from 10am-4pm is sure to draw large crowds of bookworms with an eclectic array of authors, independent booksellers, small presses, literary art groups, and non-profit community organizations. The festival offers readings, panel discussions, workshops and a children's area, and will be happening in Downtown SLO at the Mission Plaza.

On Saturday evening, September 17, Jerry Scott, the co-creator of Zits and Baby Blues comics, will make a presentation in the Community Room at the San Luis Obispo Public Library. The presentation will be free-of-charge, and will give the audience a chance to see how this creative genius makes his daily comics. His work published in thousands of newspapers around the world.

All proceeds of this fundraising event support the SLO County public libraries.

I Madonnari Comes to San Luis Obispo September 11 & 12, 2010

I Madonnari - San Luis Obispo
Mission Plaza
Attention September Travellers-

Sometimes it pays off to travel after summer is over. This is certainly the case if you are travelling to Pismo Beach or anywhere in San Luis Obispo County.

Each year in September, the plaza of the Old Mission in San Luis Obispo California is transformed with colorful, large-scale street paintings created by artists and young people. The artists or "madonnari" begin working on Saturday morning of the weekend and continue drawing throughout the two-day festival. The San Luis Obispo Mission is located at the corner of Broad and Monterey Streets. The Festival hours are from 10 am to 6 pm daily and admission is free.

Check out the magnificent artwork of some of San Luis Obispo 's finest artists . . . out on the street . . . for free. It really doesn't get any better than this.

And while you are on the Central Coast, make sure you stay at the Central Coast's premier vacation destination-- Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach, CA-- located less than two blocks from the beach. Our spacious suites accommodate 4-8 comfortably, and our suites have a spectacular ocean view. Valentina is only minutes from the world-renowned Edna Valley Wine Region and from the Mission Plaza.
