St. Anthony Celebration
Pismo Beach, CA
Portuguese and St. Anthony admirers alike will take over Pismo Beach once again for the 53rd annual St. Anthony Celebration of Pismo Beach. Enjoy Pismo Beach with the Whole Family

Don't Surrender to Non-Family Friendly Hotels
Stay at Valentina of Pismo Beach Instead
Pismo Beach is the ultimate California family destination. It's beautiful waves, spectacular sunsets, and remarkable tide pools blow Disneyland out of the water. Pismo Beach makes for the perfect wholesome family vacation, minus the life-size Mickey Mouse.

However, the typical problem Pismo admirers face is that it becomes too expensive to bring the entire family along. In many cases, especially with older kids, it could even mean having to book two rooms.

Don't fret! Valentina Inn & Villas has the solution for you. Our spacious, vacation rental size, one to three bedroom villas accommodate 4-8, meaning the entire family can fit in the suite comfortably, and have room to move around too.

The other expensive part of any trip is the cost to eat out. Valentina likewise has the solution to this dilemma. Every single suite at Valentina has a full gourmet kitchen equipped with all the modern kitchen appliances necessary to make a great family meal, as well as a dining area and dinner table. Sound too good to be true? Well, it's not.

Other family friendly conveniences like a full-size washer and dryer, free Wifi, and proximity to the beach (less than 2 blocks) make Valentina ideal.

September is California Wine Month

California Wine Month
A Palette Full of Activities
There are some months that are anticipated annually by residents of places throughout the world. Towns and cities in Italy look forward to the month of their annual patron saint festa; Californians look forward to California Wine Month in September.

Why? Because California is world-renowned for its award-winning wine regions. We are a state of wine conoisseurs and gurus. And what better way to celebrate this great month than by taking a visit out to Pismo Beach-- a city of wine and waves. The Edna Valley wine country is only a short drive away from sparkling tide and phenomenal sunsets of Pismo, has some the most diverse and highest quality varietals of the state.

California is the 4th largest wine producer in the world, and California wineries account for 90% of the vino in the nation.

Be on the lookout for events all throughout the Edna Valley this September. Laetitia Vineyard & Winery has events going on all month long.

And while you're in Pismo Beach, be sure to check out Valentina Inn & Villas of Pismo Beach, located less than 2 blocks from the beach, with easy access to the Edna Valley Wine via Price Canyon Road (entrance across the street and a block away).

New in Pismo Beach: Sans Liege Wine Tasting Room

Winemaker Curt Schalchlin
Searching for a Syrah in the Great Beyond
To the delight of Valentina guests, Price Street has turned a deeper shade of burgundy. Indeed, another tasting room has arrived in this Restaurant Row of Pismo Beach, only a block from Valentina Inn & Villas-- Sans Liege. Sans Liege sources its grapes from the finest wineries on the Central Coast, and then channels them into exemplary wines "made complete by the union of their disparate strengths."

As owner and winemaker Curt Schalchlin comments:

"When choosing vineyards to source fruit from, I favor character over notoriety. Each of these sites have a distinctive appeal that separates them from the rest, and very often my sources are locations passed over by other winemakers. In taking up my own journey, I've learned to not discount any field for its quirks and eccentricities, however, for in diversity lies the promise of uncommon opportunity. This is the heart of Sans Liege. The Central Coast is home to a wide variety of climates, soils and topographies, so I keep my boundaries wide open. Though these appellations are each highly-regarded for their production of Rhone varietals, I've found that fruit from my vineyard blocks speak foremost of their individual provenance, a very real story of place, rather than as textbook examples of Mediterranean France."

This beautiful new tasting room in the heart of Pismo Beach is bound to enchant your tastebuds and, under the expert guidance of Schalchlin, enlighten you with the wisdom of a master taster.

Explore the charm and character of Central Coast varietals at Sans Liege on your next stay at Valentina Inn & Villas! Sans Liege Wines is located at 870 Price Street in Pismo Beach.

Pismo Weather, Pismo Surf Report, and More!

Pismo Beach Weather . . .
There's simply nothing like it.
Why do you love Pismo Beach? Pismo Beach-enamored peoples from all over the globe have deliberated and debated this hotly contested question for ages upon ages. However, if you ask anyone of importance, they will agree on one thing: the weather. Pismo Beach has the best weather in the state of California. Not too hot, not too much rain, no snow (and of course, no hurricanes or tornadoes). In other words, it's Hawaii minus the leis.

And for those that come for the waves, Pismo is recognized internationally for its uncrowded beaches and great waves. While it may not be Mavericks, the waves are great for those who want to learn the art of surfing, and can be large enough to appease the professional surfer.

To prove our point, and to provide a valuable service to all Pismo Beach admirers, we have decided to incorporate a brand-new feature on our website: a Pismo Weather and Surf Report. This Valentina page offers up-to-date details on the weather with a link to a trusted 10 day forecast. This way, you can plan ahead for your Pismo Beach getaway.

In addition, we provide a 3-day tide report with the highs and lows for the day and a pier cam so that you get a look at the waves before you get here.

And to top it all off, we have a map of Pismo Beach (complete with a Google Maps link) so that you can't get lost as you find your way to this Central Coast paradise.

Pismo Beach: The Classic California Beach Experience

Why Los Angeles May Not Be the Best
Place to Do Your Vacation

California . . . The land of sunny beaches and incredible wines.

A getaway to the beaches of Los Angeles sounds nice. But Southern California's hot . . . really hot. And traffic is always congested. And ... no wineries nearby. What kind of vacation is that?

San Francisco? Well, the pinnacle of the Golden State is not always so golden when it comes to the weather either. The "Frisco Bay" is typically cold and foggy, even in the summer months. And unless you wanna drive all the way to Napa or Sonoma, ... no wineries nearby. Again, what kind of vacation is that?

The solution: choose the middle ground Pismo Beach, CA (halfway between Los Angeles & San Francisco ... where the weather is ideal, and the wine is plentiful (and of high quality). Pismo Beach provides the perfect California getaway for the tourist that just wants some wine and waves without all the snags. With over 100 local wineries in close proximity (the Edna Valley is just right around the corner), and perfect weather all the time, Pismo Beach is the beach town destination for you and your family (and friends!).

And at Valentina, Pismo's Newest Accommodations, we make family vacations easier than ever before. Our vacation rental size suites accommodate 4-8, and include full gourmet kitchens (so you don't have to eat out every night), living rooms with entertainment centers, washer/dryer, and more. Live the Pismo dream this summer!

Reserve Now at 805-773-1234 or at http://valentinapismobeach.com/reservations.html!

Stay Green, Stay at Valentina

At Valentina, we care about
Mama Earth.
Are you turning red with frustration as you try to go "green"? So many hotels offer quality, but have absolutely no concern for the environment. As Robbie Williams would say, "What a shame".

Here at Valentina, you get the best of both worlds. Spectacular amenities with an eco-friendly touch. Every luxurious villa is as spacious as a luxury condo, yet is less energy-consuming than the average hotel suite. Valentina has gone through extensive measures to set the bar for sustainability in the hospitality industry. From the structure to the surface, Valentina has made use of environmentally–friendly technology.

Here are some of its green features:

  • HERS rated and approved for energy efficiency
  • Thermal mass concrete on the second floor of Valentina is designed to hold temperature, thus limiting the use of heaters and fireplaces, and reducing energy consumption.
  • Walls use R-19 insulation which are a higher standard of thermal regulation quality than the minimum code requirements.
  • Roof is designed for thermal efficiency with white PVC membrane to maintain an ideal temperature range throughout the structure.
  • Loewen windows, which are made of douglas fir wood (a renewable resource), and are manufactured by sustainable practices. Moreover, they are empirically shown to be among the industry's best in terms of thermal performance.
  • Navien tankless water heater systems, rated at 98% energy-efficiency and are extremely efficient with water. In addition, landscaping is low-consumption, with many drought-resistant succulents.
  • All landscaping is on a self-monitoring drip system, and pavers in the exterior parking lot allow for clean drainage.
  • GE Profile™ Energy Star appliances in the kitchen (i.e. dishwasher), and in the utility room (i.e washer and dryer).

At Valentina, we believe in saving our natural resources. Through practical solutions and sustainable means, we are doing what we can to be a truly green hotel. We seek to set an example for other hotels in Central Coast (and California) hospitality industry. Together, we can save our fragile planet.

Tee Off at the Annual Classic California Golf Tournament

photo
Luckily, this Scotsman will not
be competing at the event.

Move over Scotland! We may not have a golf course at our airport, but we do have some fantastic golf tournaments. On September 15, the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Classic California Golf Tournament at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course. There will be a shot-gun start at 12:00 provided there are no birds in the way.

Here are some of the highlights:
>Golf, Cocktail Party, Dinner at Cypress Pavilion
>Multiple golf club prizes given away
>Miller Light & Corona Girls in attendance
>Special exhibition by Peter Candela
>Out-Drive the Pro Contest!

Will Pismo Beach Mayor Shelly Higginbotham show up the other two mayors of the Tri-Cities with putting supremacy, . . . or embarass herself silly? We won't know the answer until the 15th when Pismo Beach history will be made.

And if you're coming from out of town, be sure to stay at Valentina Inn & Villas, Pismo's newest and finest vacation rentals.

Celebrate Your Vows of Matrimony
in Pismo Beach

Break the mold . . . and do so in style by getting married in the Central Coast's secret city of love- Pismo Beach, CA.
